THIS JUST IN - FUNDRAISING MESSAGE FROM MONICA DEGAGNE

Hello Junior Choir Families, your child should have brought home  the Tenderloin Meats and Bothwell Cheese fundraising forms. Please hand in the forms February 17 along with money into the attendance taker or the Directors.
There is no obligation to participate in these fundraisers but we wanted you to enjoy the great things the companies have to offer.
Your child  should have also brought home a Pre Order Ticket form for our Fun Spud N Spud Night. These forms are to be handed in February 10 along with money.

I am  looking for parent volunteers with the Fun Bud n Spud night March 5.

Please  contact me (Monica) at gamesalot54@gmail.com. if you are able to help for all or any of these dates. Thank you. Monica

MUSIC CELEBRATION, WPG MUSIC FEST & OTHER INFO.

Dear JCC Singers and Parents,

Great rehearsal last week - LOVED hearing you sing Titanium! Here's a schedule update, including our Winnipeg Music Festival date:

1. We WILL be having a regular JCC rehearsal (at Westwood) on Wednesday, Feb. 3rd, even though the Divisional Musical Theatre production of The Lion King will be going on at Westwood at that time.  JCC students who are performing in The Lion King can decide how much of the rehearsal (if any) they are able to attend. For the rest of the choir, the rehearsal is ON for that day.

2. The JCC will be participating in Music Celebration during the regular rehearsal time, 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM, at Sturgeon Creek United Church on Wednesday, Feb. 10th.  The choir will meet in the lower level gym, at Sturgeon Creek United Church at 4:30 PM INSTEAD of Westwood Collegiate on this day. The JCC performs in the upper level sanctuary at 5:30 PM, and we welcome all our parents, family members, and friends in the audience. Admission is free. This non-competitive, divisionally run festival, provides a valuable opportunity to work with adjudicator, Johanna Hildebrand and receive feedback on our festival repertoire. Concert attire will be worn, and vest moms will be on hand to assist our singers. Students will be free to leave Sturgeon Creek United Church at 6:00 PM.

3. Our Winnipeg Music Festival date is Saturday, March 5th. We are in three classes, performing 6 songs in a row, accompanied by Andrew St. Hilaire and Katie Abraham - Lobster Quadrille, Plaisir d'Amour, 'Tis the Gift to Be Simple, Bandyrowe, Ave Maria, and Celtic Blessing.  Our start time is 1:00PM, and students are asked to arrive at Westminster United Church (corner of Maryland & Westminster) by 12:15PM in their concert attire. Vest moms will be there to assist. We are really looking forward to this performance, and it will be great to have all the parents, families, and friends in the audience. General admission is $4.00 at the door, with free admission for children 12 & under.

4. Check out our blog calendar, found on the upper right-hand side of the blog, http://sjsddivisionalconcertchoir.blogspot.ca for continually updated information about upcoming  JCC performances.

Happy New Year, Everyone!

Great work at the New Year Levee! Bravo to our fantastic soloists, Nicole, Azaileia and Elise. Kudos to our student MC’s, Ethan, Becca, Lindsy, Jeremy and Mallory, for your engaging introductions, and for memorizing, preparing and delivering your lines so clearly. Also, thank you to our pianist, Andrew St. Hilaire, and to the multi-talented, Katy Abraham, for their outstanding dedication to this performance.  And, to Andrew Morican, thank you so very much for taking this video of our choir. To all our parents and families, your effort to bring your children to this event on New Years Day, is most appreciated! It is clear that these students have a very strong network of support around them.  See you tomorrow (Wednesday, Jan. 6th) at rehearsal!
