WINNIPEG MUSIC FESTIVAL UPDATE

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING UPDATE REGARDING OUR WMF PERFORMANCE:

1. Our Winnipeg Music Festival date is Saturday, March 5th. We are in three classes, performing 6 songs, accompanied by Andrew St. Hilaire and Katie Abraham - Lobster Quadrille, Plaisir d'Amour, 'Tis the Gift to Be Simple, Bandyrowe, Ave Maria, and Celtic Blessing.  Ms. Abraham will warm up the JCC from 1:00PM-1:30PM, while Ms. Russell will be conducting the Westwood Chamber Choir performance on the stage. Following Westwood's performance, the JCC will take the stage from 1:30PM until 2:15PM. Students are asked to arrive at Westminster United Church (corner of Maryland & Westminster) by 12:30PM in their concert attire, and will sit with Ms. Abraham in the church, until they are called to their warm-up room at 1:00PM. Vest moms will be there to assist. As there will not be a choir performing in the church until 1:00PM, vests can be put on before going into warm-up.  This way, Ms. Abraham can have enough time to warm-up each of the songs.  We are really looking forward to this performance, and it will be great to have all the parents, families, and friends in the audience. General admission is $4.00 at the door, with free admission for children 12 & under.

PARKING BAN FOR TONIGHT

Hi Everyone,   Here's a message from Jackie Gagne regarding parking for tonight at Sturgeon Creek United Church:

For those of you who are planning to stay at Music Celebration after the JCC has sung:

Please let your families know the parking ban for the area around SCUC takes effect at 7 pm tonight. I'll see what I can do to stall this until 8:30 pm.

Provincial Honour Choir 2016

Congratulations to our JCC singers who sang with the Provincial Honour Choir this weekend - Malory B, Alexis C, Koralee F, Jenny G, Delaney M and Gabrielle N - what a beautiful concert!

Congrats and Music Celebration this Wednesday

1. Congratulations to all our JCC members of This Lion King Cast!  The show was absolutely spectacular. It was such a pleasure to have you all at Westwood for show week - just wonderful to be surrounded by the sounds and sights of the African Savannah!

2. The JCC will be participating in Music Celebration during the regular rehearsal time, 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM, at Sturgeon Creek United Church on Wednesday, Feb. 10th.  The choir will meet in the lower level gym, at Sturgeon Creek United Church at 4:30 PM INSTEAD of Westwood Collegiate on this day. The JCC will sing Lobster Quadrille, Plaisir d'Amour, 'Tis the Gift to Be Simple and Celtic Blessing in the upper level sanctuary at 5:30 PM, and we welcome all our parents, family members, and friends in the audience. Admission is free. This non-competitive, divisionally run festival, provides a valuable opportunity to work with adjudicator, Johanna Hildebrand and receive feedback on our festival repertoire. Concert attire will be worn, and vest moms will be on hand to assist our singers. Students will be free to leave Sturgeon Creek United Church at 6:00 PM.
